La Maison de l'Europe des Yvelines of Europe seeks six young people between 18 and 30 to attend the first session of Youth Committee of European Regions to be held in INJEP at Marly-Le-Roi of 2 to 8 March 2009 .
Youth Committee is a project that was born of a proposal for the 6th session of Parliament Franco-Germano-Polish Youth: Creating a European Advisory Committee on Youth to develop ideas and proposals for projects aimed at enhancing the participation of civil society, civic engagement, to improve knowledge of European institutions and to assess policies of the European Union in areas from the perspective of youth. It is within this context that the House of Europe has taken the initiative to launch the Youth Committee of European Regions which will bring together 70 young French, German, Polish and Italian. The themes of the first committee will be the functioning of European institutions, the link between Europe and its regions, youth participation and special attention will be paid to the preparation of the European Parliament elections. The objectives are to improve young people's active participation in democratic life at the regional and international making them aware of their citizenship. After this meeting, youth use what they have learned and achieved during this week to create innovative projects in their region of origin to encourage other young people interested in Europe and to vote in elections European Parliament in June 2009.
- Cost: Lodging and food on site are fully supported by MdEY. 75% of travel expenses will be reimbursed after the meeting upon presentation of receipts.
- Conditions: be between 18 and 30, have a basic level of English to express themselves and communicate with other participants, be available all week from March 2 to 8 inclusive.
